A history of work as a tool and die machinist, an auto repair technician, and a teacher of automobile technology enables me to bring ample technical knowledge to the automotive editorial process. I am an accomplished author of automotive, truck, and body shop editorial in magazines, booklets, and visual aids programs, I’ve written many educational and consumer books. Even while serving as an ordained minister, my editorial work has been published in Motor, Motor Age, Auto Body Repair News magazines, also Car Crazy TV and other industry venues. ASE (National Association for Automotive Service Excellence) test study aids have come from my computer keyboard. Extensive automotive knowledge and writing experience has awarded me a Chilton Publishing Co.'s Editorial Excellence Award and an ASE Hall of Fame induction. Ol’ Mechanic Trivia Answer... “ B. “1930” In 1930, the Indianapolis 500 saw a diesel racer built by Clessie Cummins set a record. The race car completed the event without a pit stop. Jimmy Doolittle, of WW2 fame, was the pit crew member assigned to bring the car into the pits. He lost the signals, so the driver kept rolling. Cummins, now of diesel truck engine manufacturing fame, sent a note to Doolittle after the Tokyo raid. He noted that he was glad Doolittle did not lose the bombing instructions.
